Thrive Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in South Gloucestershire to recruit a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 3 on a full-time basis.
This rewarding role involves providing individualised support for a pupil experiencing Global Developmental Delay, who is currently working significantly below age-related expectations. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the child’s learning, engagement, and overall development within the classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide consistent 1:1 support tailored to the child’s individual needs
Adapt learning activities and approaches to support progress and engagement
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies
Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
Respond calmly and effectively to changing situations throughout the school day
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have previous experience working in a school setting (essential)
Be active, empathetic, and adaptable in their approach
Hold Team Teach training or be willing to undertake Team Teach training
Demonstrate patience, resilience, and a commitment to supporting children with additional needs
Be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check
