The Role
Job Title: Arabic B Teacher
Reporting to: Director of Arabic & Islamic Studies
Academic Leadership
• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Arabic language lessons for students in accordance with MOE and school requirements.
• Design engaging, student-centred lessons that incorporate creative teaching strategies and modern pedagogical approaches.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students of varying language abilities and cultural backgrounds.
• Assess students’ progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback and reporting regularly to parents and the school leadership team.
• Promote a love for the Arabic language and culture by integrating relevant cultural elements into the curriculum.
Curriculum Development and Compliance
• Collaborate with the Arabic and Islamic Studies Teachers to ensure lessons align with the UAE MOE Arabic curriculum while adhering to Queen Elizabeth’s School, Dubai Sports City’s academic standards.
• Contribute to the development of Arabic language resources and materials that meet the school’s vision for excellence.
• Ensure compliance with KHDA guidelines and participate in inspections to meet regulatory requirements.
Student Development and Support
• Foster an inclusive and positive learning environment that supports students’ academic, social, and emotional development.
• Monitor and support students’ progress, identifying and addressing any areas of concern through intervention and support plans as needed.
• Encourage student participation in Arabic-related extracurricular activities, such as cultural events, language clubs, or competitions.
Parental Engagement and Communication
• Maintain regular and open communication with parents regarding students’ progress, achievements, and areas for improvement.
• Attend parent-teacher conferences and contribute to parent workshops or events as required.
Professional Growth and Collaboration
• Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay updated on best practices in Arabic language instruction.
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments to promote cross-curricular links and ensure the integration of Arabic language within the broader curriculum.
• Support school-wide initiatives and events, fostering a sense of community and cultural appreciation.
The Person
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Arabic Language, Arabic Literature, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or MOErecognised teaching license).
• A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in a British curriculum or international school setting.
• Knowledge of the UAE Ministry of Education’s Arabic curriculum and KHDA requirements.
• Proven track record of achieving high academic standards in Arabic language instruction.
