Job Description
Join the Fusion and Modular Nuclear Business Unit! Reporting to the FEED Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for delivering front-end engineering activities for Small Modular Reactors, Advanced Modular Reactors, and Fusion projects. The Principal Engineer will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams and lead an engineering design team to deliver scope effectively.
Your mission:
* Spearheading the delivery of innovative power station systems.
* Conducting optioneering studies to identify the best solutions aligned with client objectives.
* Leading a team in creating and refining design documents, including Process Flow Diagrams and Equipment Datasheets.
* Developing Design Description Documents and Requirement Specifications to drive design excellence.
* Integrating systems into the overall plant infrastructure for optimal performance.
* Serving as the technical expert for designated scopes.
* Chairing Design Reviews and leading HAZID/HAZOP studies with multidisciplinary teams.
* Ensuring compliance with company H&S policies and project quality standards.

Qualifications:
* Extensive experience in regulated industries such as nuclear, thermal power, or oil and gas.
* Expertise in thermal power systems and nuclear plant operations.
* Proven ability in optioneering, studies, and safety argumentation (ALARP, BAT).
* Leadership experience, mentoring junior staff, managing small teams.
* Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
* Knowledge of ASME, European, UK standards, and Product Safety Legislation.
* Understanding of requirements management and systems engineering.
* Results-driven, organized, capable of working independently or collaboratively.
* British National, eligible for UK security clearance.
