Job Title: Road Freight Forwarder
Location: WF7
Salary: £30,000-£40,000 + bonus (flexible for the right candidate)
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30 - 17:00pm
About the Company:
We're working with a growing UK freight forwarding business with a small but ambitious operation in Yorkshire. They're looking to expand their road freight department and are seeking an experienced professional to take ownership and help shape the team.
Road Freight Operator Role:
This is a hands-on, high-responsibility role, managing UK road freight operations from start to finish, with the opportunity to develop some EU shipments. You'll work closely with the BDM and play a pivotal role in growing the department, managing quoting, backload rates, and UK tenders.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage end-to-end UK road freight operations.
* Prepare quotes for full loads, part loads, and backloads.
* Negotiate haulage rates and manage UK tenders.
* Coordinate with hauliers, clients, and internal teams.
* Use Haulage Exchange to optimise efficiency and margins.
* Monitor UK market rates and maintain competitive pricing.
* Support business development and bring new opportunities to the team.
* Build and maintain strong client relationships.
* Contribute to the growth and development of the freight forwarding department.
What We're Looking For:
* Thorough knowledge of UK market rates.
* Experience with Haulage Exchange and backload rate management.
* Strong quoting and tendering experience.
* Commercially minded with a customer-focused approach.
