Job Description:
The Business:
Our client is a fast-growing, private equity-backed energy services platform, supporting thousands of commercial customers with access to cleaner, cheaper energy solutions. The company is entering a period of accelerated growth through acquisitions in the UK and internationally.
The Opportunity:
The business is now ready to execute its buy-and-build strategy. An acquisition is entering due diligence, with a pipeline of further opportunities domestically and abroad. International deals are being led by the investor but require senior-level execution support due to their complexity.
We are hiring an Interim Head of M&A to lead transaction execution, develop deal processes, and support the CEO and investors strategically.
This role is hands-on and delivery-focused, suitable for a commercially-minded M&A professional with private equity experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Transaction Management: Lead end-to-end execution of M&A transactions, from origination to integration planning.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with the CEO, leadership, investors, advisors, and target stakeholders.
* Due Diligence Oversight: Coordinate financial, legal, commercial, and operational due diligence.
* Integration Planning: Ensure post-deal integration considerations during execution and support after close.
* Market Intelligence: Maintain market insights and support strategic pipeline development.
* Documentation & Process: Prepare investment papers, refine M&A processes for consistent execution.
Candidate Profile:
* Extensive M&A execution experience, preferably in private equity-backed firms, investment banks, or corporate development.
* Strong understanding of transaction lifecycle and ability to handle multiple deals.
* High commercial acumen and excellent communication skills.
* Comfortable in fast-paced, lean environments with multiple stakeholders.
* International M&A exposure and energy/services sector experience are a plus but not essential.
