The Museum Assistant role is an exciting opportunity to join the Diving Museum team. You will work to support the team on a wide range of events, projects, and the day-to-day running of the museum. You will bring enthusiasm, energy, and a willingness to learn and develop your skills.
The Museum Assistant role is an exciting opportunity to join the Diving Museum team. You will work to support the team on a wide range of events, projects, and the day-to-day running of the museum. You will bring enthusiasm, energy, and a willingness to learn and develop your skills. You will be self-motivated and a team player whilst also being able to use your own initiative. You will have excellent communication skills - both written and verbal as well as good ICT skills. This is a great opportunity for someone to gain experience in working in a museum including front of house, museum operations, event coordination, project planning, marketing, and community engagement.
The Museums Assistant role will support the work of the Diving Museum with the delivery of a range of events through from planning to delivery to evaluation.
This will include the following:
* Assist will daily operations of the museum
* Assist with the organisation of a variety of events, including inception, budgeting, project planning, facilitation, and evaluation
* Support the production and implementation of event marketing plans
* Assist with the production of print materials, publications, reports, and evaluation documentation
* Communicate with clients and customers through sending out pre and post event materials
* Help gather statistical information on events and activities
* Ensure compliance with relevant policies, including health and safety, safeguarding, and equal opportunities
* Act as a member of the museum staff team, playing an active role in organisation-wide activities
* Assist with social media and email marketing campaigns – developing ideas for website content with relevant event details
* Help maintain the Buddy Line volunteer newsletter.
* Keep the HDS publications editor updated with items from the museum.
* Assist Museum Manager with administration tasks· Assist with the volunteer roster
* Communicate with volunteers to keep them up to date with weekly and future events.
* Assist with planning events for the next year in time for them to be published in local annual event calendars and museum brochure.
* Assist with the administration of museum shop.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, responding effectively in person, in writing, via email and over the phone
* Knowledge of a range of IT applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

Entry requirements
Candidates will be expected to have passed English and Maths GSCE, or functional skills at A*-C or 4 – 9 or equivalent. Right to work in the Uk Have lived in the UK for 3 years
Training to be provided
Event Assistant Level 3 Standard
Apprentices learn the skills they need on the job with the guidance of a development coach who is an expert from industry. You will finish your apprenticeship with a recognised qualification, valuable industry experience, money, and substantial opportunities for promotion.

Things to consider
This role could involve some travel to assist delivering outreach projects and events. Any visit would be discussed and agreed beforehand. There will be work that is creative in its nature, the post will also be administrative and event management based, so the candidate must be prepared to work in a flexible environment.
