Job Description

Job Title: Assistant Administrator

Band/Job Group: Grade 2, Points 3-8

Hours/Weeks: 32.5

Special Conditions: Term time only plus training days (39 Weeks)

School: Tiverton Academy

Responsible to Headteacher


Job Summary

To undertake general clerical/administrative duties within the school.


Additional Duties and Responsibilities

* Deal with telephone enquiries to the school. Making outgoing routine telephone calls as requested.
* Greeting visitors to the school, signing in and out, issuing visitor information. Providing necessary hospitality.
* Postal duties including receiving, opening and distributing incoming mail and despatching outgoing mail.
* Duplicating & distribution of information.
* Dealing with pupil registers and information relating to school meals, milk and fruit.
* Provide administrative support for trips and residential visits.
* Manage the range of reprographic processes available.
* Manage the use of photocopier, order associated items, liaise with provider to ensure it is fully maintained and operational and provide monthly usage for billing purpose.
* Receive and check contents of parcel deliveries and distribute as necessary.
* General word processing and routine I.T. tasks.
* General administrative tasks including filing.
* You may be required to carry out any other duties within your capacity in the post of School Administrator which the school may reasonably require under the direction of the Office Manager.


Other

To work within the policies and procedures of the Trust and Academy, including that for performance management and appraisal.

It is your responsibility to carry out your duties in line with the TEFAT policy on equality and be sensitive and caring to the needs of the disadvantaged, promoting a positive approach to a harmonious working environment. You should act as an exemplar on these issues and should identify and monitor training for yourself and any employees for whom you are responsible, in line with this policy and the Equality Act 2010.

Such other duties as may be appropriate to achieve the objectives of the post to assist the Thematic Area in the fulfilment of its objectives commensurate with the post holder's salary grade, abilities and aptitudes.

The post holder must at all times carry out his/her responsibilities with due regard to the TEFAT policy, organisation and arrangements for Health and Safety at Work.
