SEN Teacher – Full-Time

About the Role:
A specialist SEN school in Borehamwood is seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Teacher to join their team on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis starting ASAP. This role is ideal for an educator committed to supporting pupils with autism and associated needs, including speech and language difficulties, sensory processing challenges, and behavioural regulation.
You’ll be part of a nurturing, well-resourced environment with small class sizes and a high staff-to-student ratio. The school is dedicated to delivering personalised, inclusive education that empowers every learner to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with complex SEN, particularly autism
* Establish clear routines and use visual supports to aid communication and understanding
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and families to provide holistic support
* Track and report pupil progress in line with EHCP outcomes and individual learning targets
* Implement evidence-based strategies to support emotional regulation and promote independence
* Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
* Engage in ongoing CPD and contribute to the wider school community

What We’re Looking For:
* QTS is preferred but not essential
* Proven experience working with children or young people with SEN, ideally in specialist or alternative settings
* Strong understanding of autism and related developmental needs
* A calm, resilient, and compassionate teaching approach
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
