About the Role:
You will join on a full time, One-year fixed term basis (37.5 hours per week).
You will play a key role in delivering our vision for sport: one that is inclusive, aspirational, and rooted in our core values of Kindness, Integrity, Respect, Responsibility and Courage. As a specialist Hockey coach, you will lead sessions across all age groups and genders, support fixtures (including Saturdays), and contribute to the wider Games and PE provision. The ability to coach a summer sport such as Cricket or Tennis is highly desirable.
You'll also have the chance to support pre-season training, festivals, and tours, and to work alongside a talented team of teachers, Heads of Sport, and professional coaches. This role offers a rich and rewarding experience within a school community that values holistic education and personal development.
Main responsibilities:
We're looking for someone who can: (for full requirements please refer to the Job Description)
Deliver high-quality, inclusive coaching in Hockey across all age groups and genders, supporting both participation and performance pathways.
Contribute to the coaching of other sports (e.g. Cricket, Tennis) as required, helping to maintain a broad and balanced Games programme.
Plan and lead engaging training sessions that reflect the College's coaching philosophy and values.
Support the organisation and delivery of fixtures, tournaments, and festivals — both home and away — including Saturday sport.
Essential Requirements:
Experience coaching Hockey in a youth or adult setting
A minimum Level 1 Hockey coaching qualification or equivalent experience
Willingness to contribute to weekend and evening duties as part of a boarding school environment
Desirable:
A degree in Sport or Sports Coaching
Experience coaching a summer sport (Cricket or Tennis)
First Aid qualification
Experience working in a school or residential setting
