Wye School, opened in September 2013, is an all-ability, co-educational school serving up to 600 students aged 11 to 19. Our drive is to provide an excellent standard of education for the whole community which supports and develops each and every individual to be the very best they can be. As part of this, we provide an education with character, which encompasses our core values of Respect, Determination and Ambition; these values are a central part of our decision making and our interactions with students.
We are looking to appoint a highly motivated 1:1 Student Support Assistant to support a Year 7 child with Downs Syndrome. The ideal candidate will have experience and/or a passion for supporting Downs Syndrome children on a 1:1 basis, working with Primary and/or Secondary children and be passionate about SEN and inclusion.
You will have experience in establishing supportive relationships with students and in promoting the inclusion of students with SEN. Alongside this, you will be confident in supporting and monitoring children’s learning and, where appropriate, modifying or adapting activities as agreed with the teacher to achieve the intended learning outcomes.
You will have experience in forming and maintaining appropriate professional relationships with students and adults working in the school and demonstrate the ability to be an effective team member, modelling commitment to student learning.
