We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Vale of Glamorgan to assist with the appointment of a Maintenance Officer, on a 6-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £16.10 - £21.07 per hour
Summary:
The Maintenance Officer will carry out maintenance, repair, and installation works across social housing properties and public buildings throughout the Vale of Glamorgan area. The role requires a qualified and experienced tradesperson who can work independently and efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.
Responsibilities:
* Carry out a wide range of carpentry repairs and installations within social housing and public buildings.
* Complete responsive and planned maintenance works to a high standard.
* Install, repair, and maintain doors, frames, kitchens, flooring, skirting, and other timber structures.
* Ensure all works are completed in line with health and safety regulations and council policies.
* Diagnose faults and determine appropriate repair solutions.
* Maintain accurate records of completed works and materials used.
Essentials:
* Full UK Driving Licence and Own vehicle to report to Alps Depot, Wenvoe, Cardiff
* Proven experience working in social housing and/or public buildings.
* Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
* Strong understanding of health and safety practices within construction environments.
* Good problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
