Job description: We have an opportunity for a Senior Model Design Engineer to join the team at the new Silverstone Facility. In this role, you will work within a group of skilled design engineers to deliver high-quality designed 60% model parts for Wind Tunnel testing, supporting aerodynamic performance development of the team's race cars. Principal Accountabilities:
* Deliver high-quality designed parts for Wind Tunnel testing.
* Manage complete design projects, including part creation, checking, fault prevention and resolution, and documentation.
* Improve the quality and functionality of model parts/assemblies to enhance Wind Tunnel test efficiency.
* Support development and maintenance of improved working methods.
* Collaborate with Aerodynamicists and Surface Design Engineers to ensure parts meet requirements.
* Mentor junior team members and support methodological and modeling improvements.
* Ensure adherence to standard design practices.
* Occasional travel may be required.
Requirements:
* Degree in Engineering, Design, Motorsport, or related field.
* Multiple years' relevant experience, preferably in motorsport.
* Extensive experience with 3D CAD software (preferably 3DExperience/CATIA).
* Strong knowledge of part quality, layout, and robustness.
* Proficiency in parametric modeling techniques.
* Ability to apply structural engineering techniques (FEA).
* Knowledge of materials and manufacturing, including composites and digital manufacturing.
* Understanding of GD&T and its application.
* Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
* Ability to perform duties accurately and timely.
* Effective communication with stakeholders and directors.
* Proficiency in MS Office suite.
