Pre Construction Manager/Design Manager

Overview of Role:
11. Manage the development of exemplar building services designs to completion
12. Engage & manage design consultants by clearly identifying responsibilities, deliverables and required timescales and monitoring progress throughout the process
13. Engage with specialists to develop robust and cost effective solutions for Contractor Design Portions (CDP)
14. Instigate technical workshops and attend design team meetings as required
15. Ensure compliance with Employers Requirements, Building Regulations, Standards and all applicable Codes of Practice,
16. Assist in development of costs plans and ensure that design & procurement strategies are commercially advantageous
17. Manage the BIM process in accordance with our internal protocols and work in collaboration with our internal Revit team to develop fully coordinated models for installation
18. Develop & issue technical submittals for approval
19. Interface with our delivery team through the design process to give an update on progress, programming and commercial issues
20. Manage contracts during the design phase by issuing applications, Early Warnings & Compensation Events if necessary
The Ideal Person:
21. Qualified to BEng/BSC/HNC/HND/NVQ4/equivalent or demonstrable experience
22. Experienced in either contract management or design consultancy
23. Familiar with building services installation methods
24. Knowledge of compliance, codes of practice and building regulations requirements
25. Proficient with Microsoft Office software (Excel in particular)
26. Familiar with Revit, Navisworks etc and BIM requirements.
27. Understanding of commercial aspects of building engineering services
28. Ability to work efficiently and effectively as part of a dedicated team.
29. Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills.
30. Highly articulate with a clear and analytical approach to problem solving.
31. Strong appreciation of cost awareness.
32. Energetic, punctual, and reliable.
33. Ability to use your initiative and be decisive.
34. Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
