Pastoral Support Officer Location: Walsall Start Date: September 2025 Salary: £90–£110 per day (dependent on experience) Are you passionate about supporting young people’s wellbeing and personal development? We are currently seeking a Pastoral support officer to work in one of our partner secondary schools in Walsall. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in students’ lives by providing emotional, behavioural, and social support within a structured school environment. Role Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with emotional or behavioural needs. Support the pastoral team in promoting positive behaviour, attendance and engagement. Act as a point of contact for students needing guidance, support or a listening ear. Liaise with teachers, senior leaders, and external agencies to ensure holistic student support. Assist in managing behaviour incidents, restorative conversations and wellbeing interventions. Help implement and monitor personalised behaviour or support plans. Role Requirements: Experience working with young people in an educational or pastoral setting (school, youth work, mentoring, etc.). A calm, approachable and professional manner with strong interpersonal skills. The ability to manage challenging behaviour with empathy and consistency. A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies. A commitment to improving outcomes for students from all backgrounds.
