Bathgate Academy is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and dynamic Teacher of Business Education or Computing.
The successful candidate will support the school's vision and implement strategies to achieve this. This is a key post during an exciting and challenging time for education at the school.
Bathgate Academy is a comprehensive, non-denominational school serving a cluster of five primary schools.
The school roll is currently 1180 students, which is steadily rising due to housing developments and increasing community confidence in our educational standards.
Our motivated staff, students, parents, carers, and community work together to continually improve the school.
We value inclusion and have a diverse student body, including many facing significant learning barriers. Our staff work hard to help students achieve their ambitions.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated, skilled, open-minded, and friendly individual to join us and help secure positive futures for our students.
The successful candidate should have relevant teaching qualifications and registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland.
We aim to employ a diverse workforce that reflects Scotland's people and welcome applications from all backgrounds, especially from underrepresented groups, including people with disabilities, minority ethnic communities, and socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
West Lothian Council is committed to significant changes in delivering Education Services, including providing support and development opportunities. Our commitment is reflected in achieving the Investors in People Standard and striving for continuous improvement.
This position is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check before starting employment, with costs covered by the candidate.
The fee for Full PVG Scheme Membership is £59; existing members pay £18.
