Financial Accountant- Hybrid, London
Base salary £65,000-£78,000k plus extensive benefits
A senior financial accountant role within a large, public sector and government complex organisation, responsible for statutory accounts, regulatory filings and group consolidation. The position also leads the in-sourcing of accounting processes and strengthens the organisation's financial governance framework.
Financial Accountant Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the production of statutory accounts, AR21 filings and full reporting for all entities.
2. Manage consolidation schedules and act as primary liaison for external audit and regulatory bodies.
3. Oversee the in-sourcing of financial accounting from the external provider, ensuring a smooth transition.
4. Drive improvements to financial accounting policy, controls and fixed asset reporting.
5. Provide leadership to Tax and Treasury (where line management applies) and support the wider finance management team.
Candidate Profile:
6. Strong financial accounting experience in a large, complex environment with full statutory reporting and group consolidation exposure.
7. Proven ability to develop complete accounts from trial balance and manage regulatory submissions.
8. Exceptional Excel capability (pivot tables, power queries, data models) and strong technical accounting knowledge.
9. Qualified accountant (ACA/FCA preferred) with excellent analytical and drafting skills.
10. Collaborative, resilient and discreet, with the ability to manage staff and deliver under pressure.
11. Desirable: union/membership organisation experience; systems change; NAV/Business Central; Caseware.
