Commercial Engineer - Precision Engineering
Location: Willenhall (Part‑Hybrid)
Salary: £65,000 - £70,000
Hours: Full-time, Permanent
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Engineer to join a leading precision engineering business in Willenhall. This role offers part‑hybrid working and is ideal for someone with strong estimating experience, solid engineering process knowledge, and a commercially driven mindset. You'll play a key part in supporting customer quotations, driving cost‑saving initiatives, and strengthening the link between engineering and commercial functions.
The Role
* Lead customer estimating activities within the estimating team
* Produce accurate customer quotations using best‑practice methodology
* Provide commercial support relating to engineering Cost of Sales (COS)
* Review COS data, identify lessons learned, and implement future cost‑saving ideas
* Support continuous improvement initiatives across the engineering department
* Work closely with engineering teams to meet customer demand
* Introduce and maintain process documentation in line with the company BMS
Key Responsibilities
* Estimate CNC‑machined components and ensure timely quote turnaround
* Prepare detailed cost estimates to support new business acquisition
* Collaborate with Supply Chain to source materials to customer specification
Knowledge & Skills Required
* Strong understanding of precision engineering processes
* Experience delivering cost‑saving initiatives
* Ability to organise and prioritise workload within a small team
* Knowledge of tooling, fixtures, and engineering manufacturing methods
