General Manager Facilities Management – MOD/Defence Sector South Oxfordshire Salary Guide: £50,000 bonus Trevett Services are working with a leading FM Service Provider to hire an experienced General Manager to deliver the FM Contract on an active MOD facility in South Oxfordshire. In the role of General Manager you will lead on the contract delivery of Soft FM including catering and cleaning services. Experience in catering and cleaning management is essential for this role, experience within a Defence/MOD environment is preferred but not essential. Role & Duties * Oversee the day-to-day management, coordination, and control of all Defence activities across designated contracts and affiliated sites, in line with our Schedule of Requirements and operational manuals. * Drive growth by managing additional independent contracts and expanding service offerings. * Plan, organise, and deliver services across operational business areas, ensuring compliance with SLAs, KPIs, and contractual terms. * Manage team performance, control budgets, and build strong, collaborative relationships aligned with our vision and values. * Be able to work Monday – Friday, but as this is a 7-day operation, flexibility is essential — including picking up emergencies out of hours. Abilities & Experiences * Proven management experience within the soft FM service industry, covering leadership, people management, recruitment, training, and performance management (including disciplinary and grievance procedures). * Excellent communication skills, strong numeracy, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). * Strong knowledge of health & safety and food safety management, with IOSH Managing Safely and CIEH Level 3 qualifications desirable. * Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively, with high attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a track record of innovative solutions. * Experience in a military environment and management in a similar role would be an advantage.
