You will work closely with architects, interior designers, Fit Out and Design and Build firms, contractors, specialist installers and end user clients across London, influencing product selection, generating specifications and converting opportunities through what are often complex project cycles.
This is not a passive account management role. It is a commercially focused specification sales position centred on market presence, relationship development, project influence and strategic business growth within London’s competitive commercial interiors sector.

The Role
This is a specialist specification sales role focused on driving brand presence, generating specifications and converting commercial opportunities across Central London.
The focus will be on increasing visibility and specification penetration for a premium floor covering brand within one of the most influential commercial interiors markets in the UK.
You will be responsible for developing long term relationships across the Architecture & Design community, Design and Build, Fit-Out, contractors, specialist installers, end users and other relevant commercial project stakeholders, positioning the business as a trusted partner for design led flooring solutions.
The role is predominantly field based, supported by access to an excellent Central London showroom environment, which will play an important role in client engagement, product presentations, meetings and broader networking activity.
You will take ownership of your territory, pipeline and commercial performance, operating with autonomy while supported by an experienced and collaborative local and wider international team.
Responsibilities
* Raise and strengthen brand presence across the London Architecture & Design community
* Drive specification activity and conversion across workplace, hospitality, education, healthcare, retail and wider commercial interior projects
* Build, develop and maintain relationships with architects, interior designers, Design and Build firms, Fit-Out contractors, specialist installers, subcontractors, end users and other key commercial stakeholders
* Position the business as a trusted design led flooring partner, influencing product selection from concept stage through to order
* Identify, track and convert specification led opportunities across the territory
* Develop and execute strategic territory plans to grow market share and commercial performance
* Deliver CPDs, product presentations, showroom meetings and design consultations
* Act as a visible and credible brand ambassador at industry events, launches and networking activities
* Maintain accurate pipeline reporting, forecasting and activity tracking via CRM
* Collaborate closely with internal colleagues to ensure alignment, specification protection and successful project delivery
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
Candidates should be based within a reasonable commute of Central London and comfortable operating in a field-based role, supported by access to the Clerkenwell showroom for meetings, presentations and client engagement.
Essential experience and attributes include:
* Proven track record in specification or commercial sales within flooring, interior finishes, furniture, textiles, wallcoverings, acoustics or other closely related design led interior product sectors
* An existing and relevant network across architects, interior designers, Design and Build firms, Fit-Out contractors and other key commercial project stakeholders within London
* Experience promoting premium design led products into specification driven environments
* Demonstrated ability to generate pipeline, influence specification and convert opportunities into commercial success
* Strong commercial awareness and a proactive business development mindset
* Excellent communication, presentation and relationship building skills
* Ability to operate autonomously while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment
* Passion for design and a genuine appreciation for premium, design led products
* High levels of professionalism, credibility and commercial maturity
The Person
This role will suit someone who enjoys influence, autonomy and visibility within the design community.
You may already be working in specification sales, or you may currently be building your career within internal sales, showroom sales, specification support, project coordination or a similar client facing role within a relevant interior products business, and now be ready for the next step.
You will have the market exposure and commercial awareness to engage credibly with architects, interior designers and wider project stakeholders, with the confidence and ambition to develop into a successful field-based specification sales professional.
You are comfortable operating within architect studios, design agencies, showrooms and client environments, and are equally motivated by relationship building, project influence and commercial success.
You take pride in representing premium brands and want to build a long term career with a highly respected, design led business.
You are commercially aware, relationship focused and motivated to grow both market share and your own reputation within the sector.
