Job title: Maintenance Engineer

Location: On Site - Mount Park - Eastleigh (SO18 2FA)
Working hours: 7am - 7pm (Blue Shift), 4 days on 4 days off

Job summary - What to expect:
As the Maintenance Engineer in our Engineering and Maintenance department, you will be expected to provide support across the Packaging sites, focusing on equipment and process support to ensure effective maintenance, and efficient handling of breakdowns and repairs.
You will be expected to:
1. Respond to requests for assistance, investigate issues, identify problems, and either fix them or determine the next best solution, prioritizing based on workload and process or product priorities.
2. Record all changes made to the process or reasons for repairs using established methods.
3. Coordinate with other Engineers or external contractors to investigate or resolve issues to ensure quick resolution of breakdowns.
4. Identify suitable suppliers for non-stock replacement parts, confirm specifications and availability, and order to ensure timely supply.
5. Log daily on the CVM system, review planned maintenance, perform required procedures, run equipment to verify operation, and document maintenance completion and next due date.
6. Provide training to Operators for routine maintenance tasks, ensuring safety and efficiency.
7. Monitor ongoing production to ensure safety guards, interlocks, and fixtures are in place and functioning correctly.
8. Provide engineering support during project phases, including new equipment design, testing, and commissioning.
9. Identify and advise on safety or product safety risks related to equipment issues.
Requirements of the position:
* Wear appropriate protective clothing, including facemasks and gloves as necessary.
* Handle materials under COSHH guidelines.
* Climb ladders, work in enclosed spaces, and perform tasks requiring bending and kneeling.
Hazardous Working:
* Work with hydraulic control systems considering major mechanical energies.
* Perform live electrical testing up to lethal voltages following electrical policies, using PPE as required.
* Handle COSHH-regulated materials.
Experience & Education:
* Engineering apprenticeship in mechanical, electrical, or electronic engineering.
* Background in service engineering or precision engineering (e.g., toolmaker, instrument engineer).
* Experience in regulated or FMCG/High-Speed Packaging industry (3-5 years preferred).
* Maths/English GCSE A-C.
