National Account Manager

Key Responsibilities
New Business Development
* Develop a comprehensive understanding of the sector, categorise major opportunities, target prospects, build long‑term relationships, and win new customers to meet pre‑agreed targets in coordination with Local Sales teams.
* Present Urban Planters offerings and develop customer‑specific plans to maximise sales of new products and services.
* Sell additional work to customers, including upgrades, expanded site coverage, and solutions to specific problems arising from quotations and leads from Local Sales colleagues and technicians.
Account Management
* Manage the customer portfolio, reviewing service regularly, ensuring visits, new sales opportunities, and retention issues receive attention according to pre‑agreed standards.
* Collaborate with operational colleagues to align service delivery with customer expectations and requirements.
* Understand the cost base, act within policy guidelines in all quotations, and liaise with the Sales Director and other managers as required.
* Actively manage customer debt to stay within pre‑agreed aged debt targets.
* Maintain and increase overall profitability of proposals and works.
Other Responsibilities
* Maintain comprehensive knowledge of operational best practice and advise customers on best solutions for their sites.
* Stay informed of competitor activity, offerings, and competitive pricing.
* Undertake other tasks and activities reasonably requested by your manager.
Requirements
Knowledge and Experience
* Sales experience essential; account management and negotiation experience preferred.
* Internal and external influencing skills.
* Development and execution of new business development strategies.
* Building strategic relationships, both internally and externally.
* IT literate (Google Suite or Microsoft Suite – Google Sheets / MS Excel and Google Slides / PowerPoint in particular).
* Presentation skills.
