We are now looking for a Sales Director to lead on all sales and marketing activities in the UK. Based in Castleford, West Yorkshire, the team of 10 comprises regional business development managers, account managers, internal sales and marketing. The Role This is a true leadership role, with overall responsibility for the commercial deliverables and also for the development of the people both individually and as a sales team. This will include :- Develop and implement a commercial strategy to strengthen and expand the position of Verder Liquids in the UK and Ireland, continue on our path of market share gain with the Verder strategic product portfolio of industrial and hygienic pumps. Accelerate overall profitable growth for the Verder Group by establishing and achieving sales targets for both existing relationships and new business; be commercially involved in key accounts, OEM’s integrators and large end-user projects. Collaborate with the relevant other countries and with Verder Group to continuously improve the global organisation and to share and implement best practice. Develop and lead a strong organisation operationally, commercially and culturally. Analyse the business to continuously improve and implement process- and organizational improvement. Manage, coach and develop the employees to build on the open-, professional- and entrepreneurial culture and bridge between key-stakeholders and the Verder group and its companies. Define, manage and execute annual plans, including budget and investments and their realisation within the framework of the group strategy. Collaborate with the segment leaders and senior management team to capture market share and introduce new products in the market Provide financial and sales reporting to the Verder Group and management information. Maintain and strengthen the relation with the local brand pump suppliers, distributors and agents About You A degree level qualification is preferred Proven and demonstrable sales management / sales leadership experience at a manufacturing company Experience of selling a technical solution / engineered solution Experience of the pump industry or a related industry (rotating plant, valves, process plant, fluid handling etc) is very much beneficial Commercially strong with demonstrated success in developing existing and new accounts. An adaptable manager, able to connect with people professionally and socially A natural leader, happy at the coal face leading by example High degree of empathy yet still results focused Extensive experience with direct and indirect team leadership. Knowledge of industrial and hygienic products, markets and applications (preferably in the field of pumps or fluid handling technology). Experienced in managing and growing the direct- and indirect sales of engineered products into specific vertical markets such as Hygienic, Industrial, Municipal, Pharmaceutical and Food / Beverage. Excellent proficiency in the English language, both orally and in writing. High level of integrity, flexibility, ability to work under pressure and self-reflection are key attributes to perform this role.
