Main duties of the job
The Deputy Associate Clinical Sub-Dean (Deputy ACSD) supports the delivery of high-quality undergraduate medical education at UHS, working closely with the Associate Clinical Sub-Dean and the wider DME team. The role focuses on supporting, developing, and coordinating Clinical Teaching Fellows (CTFs), as well as managing Year 3 and 5 placements in medicine and surgery.
You will ensure students have a structured, supportive, and rewarding clinical experience, particularly during 2027 when both Year 3 and Year 5 cohorts will undertake placements simultaneously.
You will report to the Associate Clinical Sub-Dean and contribute to the implementation of guidelines from the University of Southampton Faculty of Medicine, the Medical Schools Council, and the General Medical Council.
