Staff Grade Doctor Glaucoma - Part Time (2 days - 20 hrs per week)\n Newcastle-Upon-Tyne \n\nOur private eye hospital group client has an exciting new opportunity for a Staff Grade Doctor with experience in ophthalmology, particularly in managing glaucoma cases to join their amazing and supportive team in their Newcastle Eye Hospital. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our NHS medical glaucoma service, providing both clinical and surgical assistance. This position requires a compassionate professional with a deep understanding of glaucoma management and patient care.
\nKey Responsibilities:\n - Diagnose, evaluate and manage patients with existing and undiagnosed glaucoma along with other ocular conditions.\n - Perform diagnostic tests and procedures such as visual field assessments, optical coherence tomography (OCT), volk, CCT and gonioscopy.\n - Provide management plans for existing Glaucoma referrals\n - Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients.\n - Collaborate with ophthalmologists, optometrists, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans.\n - Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to service development initiatives.\n - Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.\n - Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding glaucoma management and treatment options. \n\nWhat You'll Need\n - Medical degree from a recognized university\n - Valid GMC registration with a license to practice in UK\n - Experience in ophthalmology, particularly in managing glaucoma cases and ability to work independently \n - UK NHS Glaucoma clinic experience \n - Gonioscopy experience \n - SLT laser experience\n - Excellent diagnostic and clinical skills.\n - Strong communication and interpersonal skills.\n - Ability to work effectively in a team and independently. \nIf this sounds like you, please get in touch with us by applying for the role.
