We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated pharmacist to manage and develop a high quality pharmacy service to patients within the Trust's Neonatal Unit, part of the Women & Child Health Group. The successful candidate will be embedded within the unit and lead all clinical pharmacy services, ensuring an optimal, safe and efficient clinical service with medicines safety and governance requirements in place.
We are a progressive department keen to embrace innovative ideas, with a history of implementing automated storage, robotic dispensing, Electronic Prescribing and Administration, and other medicines management innovations across the Trust.
Following our move to the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital, there are exciting times ahead and we are keen to invest in our team. Your skills are integral to enabling us to meet our goals and to supporting the pharmaceutical needs of patients and families within Neonatal Services.
Responsibilities
* Lead on all clinical pharmacy services within the Neonatal Unit and act in a senior role to ensure a safe, effective and patient-centred service.
* Develop and sustain medicines governance, safety and quality standards in line with Trust policies.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to support the pharmaceutical needs of patients and families in Neonatal Services.
* Contribute to advanced practice opportunities and the potential for non-medical prescribing where appropriate.
* Engage with innovative service development and contribute to the evolution of the department’s practice.
* Provide leadership, mentorship and influence to staff at multiple levels within the Trust and external partners.
Qualifications and Skills
* Significant experience as a pharmacist, with substantial experience in an acute hospital setting and in paediatrics, neonatology or maternity services.
* Strong people skills, with the ability to work with and influence staff at many levels.
* Demonstrated commitment to medicines safety, governance and high-quality patient care.
* Ability to contribute to advanced practice activities and, where applicable, non-medical prescribing.
