About the role: We are seeking an exceptional individual to be the Lead Teacher/SENDCo for the Resource Specialist Provision at Fairfield Academy - The Emerald Hub. Set to open in late Autumn, the Emerald Hub will have a phased growth, eventually catering to 18 children from across North East Lincolnshire who have identified Communication and Interaction needs. You will lead a team consisting of a teacher and both educational and non-educational support staff. In collaboration with staff across the academy and colleagues in the Trust, local authority and external agencies, you will ensure a broad, balanced and specialist curriculum is provided for our children accessing the Emerald Hub. A full package of on-going CPD will be in place to support our staff team as part of the whole school relational approach. It is crucial that you create a nurturing and empathic approach to teaching, prioritising child-centred relational approaches. You will be an outstanding classroom teacher and an experienced SENDCo with good knowledge and a practical understanding of the SEND Code of Practice. You will hold ambitious expectations for all students with additional and special educational needs and disabilities and embed a culture where all can access the curriculum and learn effectively. An ability to be creative and adaptable in your teaching is crucial. Experience of teaching across key stages is desirable and a deep knowledge of the core and wider curriculum is essential, including an in-depth understanding of teaching early reading, writing and maths. A commitment to working with the Principal and mainstream SENDCo to ensure that the Emerald Centre is part of the academy and not an addition is essential. The role will commence in September 2025, allowing time for staff training and induction before children begin attending later in the Autumn term. This is a full-time - permanent role.
