We have an excellent opportunity for a senior mental health pharmacist to join our Home Treatment Teams based in Stockport and Oldham. You will work as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team, responsible for delivering the clinical pharmacy service within your borough and providing Trustwide HTT leadership.
This role involves managing, organizing, and developing the clinical pharmacy service to the HTTs across your borough, leading developments to the clinical pharmacy service to HTTs Trustwide, and delivering, developing, and evaluating specialist clinical mental health pharmacy services in the Home Treatment Teams.
You will provide expert pharmaceutical advice and liaison to the Home Treatment Team, GPs, practice pharmacists, other healthcare professionals, patients, and carers. The role includes acting as an independent prescriber of medication where appropriate, ensuring drug therapy is evidence-based, safe, cost-effective, and suitable for the individual patient.
You will also train the Home Treatment Team, GPs, and other HCPs within Primary Care on the use of psychotropic medicines, ensure pharmacy services adhere to guidelines for effective medicines management, and provide cover for other pharmacists as needed.
You will work within a multidisciplinary Home Treatment Team in Stockport and Oldham, acting as the clinical pharmacy service lead for HTTs across the Trust. You will be supported by a dedicated clinical pharmacy team and have opportunities for professional development through education, training, team meetings, Quality Improvement, and audit. Further qualifications can be pursued as needed.
This is a fully clinical role with no dispensary, out-of-hours, or on-call commitments. The hiring manager will contact you to verbally offer the position, then inform Recruitment, who will send a formal conditional offer via email.
