Job Summary
To supervise the safe removal of asbestos containing materials from industrial, commercial and residential properties, including those in healthcare and educational settings.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
* To organise and co-ordinate site work with minimum risk to health and safety of themselves and others.
* To comply with Company Policies, Procedures, Manuals and site specific requirements.
* To co-operate with management, ensuring specific asbestos remediation works are carried out in accordance with the safe system of work and completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
* To ensure method statements and risk assessments are adhered to and all records (site diaries, checklists, forms, etc.) remain up to date and are completed comprehensively and in their entirety.
* To establish and maintain a safe work area, ensuring work areas are clearly demarcated with suitable barriers and signage) to prevent unauthorised access, safe tools and equipment are used, there is no inadvertent effects to adjacent personnel, safe access/egress is maintained, including in emergency situations.
* To ensure Operatives are competent and hold the relevant training certification for the activities being carried out and specific equipment being used.
* To ensure the safe and secure storage of all materials and equipment, including hazardous substances and waste.
* To maintain a tidy work area at all times, demonstrating high standards of housekeeping during the course of work and upon completion.
* To ensure all work equipment (including Company vehicles) is suitable, safe for use and adequately maintained. Conducting and recording pre-user checks.
* To ensure an adequate supply of RPE, PPE and PPC is available, used properly and worn when required.
* To report all accidents, incidents, near misses and hazards immediately and in accordance with the Company procedures, to allow appropriate investigations and remedial actions to be taken.
* To liaise and co-operate with the Contract Manager and SHEQ Manager when conducting site visits/audits.
* To co-operate fully and professionally with inspectors from the HSE/EA/ONR and Client representatives.
* To support the Company in their endeavours to comply with all legislative obligations to meet the requirements of ISO 9001 Quality Management System and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
* Additionally, you are expected to carry out any other duties that may reasonably be required in line with your main duties.

The Company's terms and conditions are governed by the Thermal Insulation Contracting Industry (TICI) National Agreement as amended from time to time, including pay, hours of work, holiday entitlement, bereavement leave, redundancy terms and other conditions.
