We are seeking individuals with a “Can do Attitude” to join our bank portering team at Scunthorpe General Hospital. The role involves working in positive Covid-19 areas, with full training provided for porters.

Your responsibilities include working within a team to deliver a high-quality Porter Service, facilitating the movement of patients, materials, and equipment efficiently across the hospital site, along with other support tasks as needed.

Main duties of the job
You will help provide a responsive, flexible, and customer-focused porter service 24/7 across all hospital sites. Tasks include handling patient movements, distribution, stores, furniture, equipment, pharmacy, meals, pathology, blood products, waste, deceased, confidential waste, post, and laundry, using a task management system with a handheld device.
There is a 6-8 week training period. During this time, you should be available to work Monday to Friday with various shifts covering 24 hours. After training and gaining independence, you may be placed into a contracted position, with options for additional shifts, currently available as 22.5-hour contracts.
