Weekend Supported Housing Worker - Adult Services Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Weekend Supported Housing Worker to join our team in supporting young people within housing projects and within the community, to equip them with the skills to live independently. Spencer House (8 bed spaces) provide temporary supported accommodation for adults in Mendip and work in a person-centred way alongside other services to help improve residents' quality of life, develop independent living skills and secure permanent accommodation. This role provides an evening support service to ensure residents receive support, a safe environment and building security. Duties To provide a safe and secure environment for all residents by carrying out regular internal and external checks of the building, monitoring CCTV and ensuring there are no unauthorised people on site. To provide a welcoming environment for residents and to be approachable and available so that residents feel able to ask for and receive advice or support as needed. This includes those residents within Grace Harris House or dispersed flats in Hill mead, Shepton Mallet who may approach for advice or support. To organise evening activities for residents to encourage engagement, for example film nights, board games, cooking, walking. To support residents to comply with their licence agreements and house rules. To maintain accurate and up-to-date records to ensure good communication and support planning in line with policies and procedures, including handovers, running records, and safeguarding and incident reports. To follow YMCA Brunel policies and procedures, including Safeguarding and Incident Reporting, and access the Manager On-Call in line with Duty Manager procedures To ensure confidentiality of clients' information is maintained and that it is kept securely for both electronic or paper records. To administer rents and wash/dry tokens as required and make a record of this. To ensure the premises are well maintained and to report maintenance and any Health and Safety concerns. To ensure the bins are out as required by the residents and promote recycling within the project. To ensure donations are collected by the residents of the project. To undertake any tasks reasonably requested by the Senior, Accommodation and Support Manager or Adults Services Manager and provide telephone support to other services as required. To complete the staff induction programme and relevant mandatory training specified within agreed timescales and contribute to team meetings or events as required. To be a good colleague and a positive role model and ambassador for Adults Services and YMCA Brunel, upholding its values and contributing to service developments and the 5 Year Strategy Action Plan. To undertake additional hours where possible to cover absence. Location - Spencer House, 21 Chamberlain Street, Wells Hours - 16 hours/week (Saturday & Sunday) Salary - £9,552.00
