ABOUT TOSCA
Tosca is a global leader in reusablepackaging and pooling solutions that service the supply chain end toend. Re-use is the key word as Tosca facilitates moving away fromsingle use packaging towards a circular model of reusable packagingwith its robust portfolio of plastic containers, pallets, bins, cratesand more. We focus on optimizing the flow of perishables, eliminatingwaste at every turn – product, packaging, labor and transportationwaste. Our reusable plastic products improve the quality of productdelivered, create more efficient supply chains, and are moresustainable than single-use packaging.
To strengthen our Tosca-team, we are currentlyrecruiting a motivated Sustainability Manager.
Position Purpose
Thisrole supports the EMEA operations in identifying required improvementsto reduce our environmental, social and governance (ESG) impactsthrough the provision of guidance, advice and taking the lead onimplementing identified improvements where necessary in order toachieve goals and targets set by the organization and best in classcertifications such as achieving Platinum Ecovadis certification andreporting to the UN Global Compact along with completing the requireddisclosures for such certifications/ reports. It also will stronglysupport our sales teams through identifying business opportunitiesforthcoming from identified regulations, providing relevantinformation to our sales teams on how our products can improve theirenvironmental and sustainability footprints, enable regulatorycompliance and reduce costs for use in customer engagements. Thisincludes supporting the development of LifeCycle Assessments.
The role will require strong technical capabilitiesand experience in implementing sustainability related improvements,and a passion for sustainability through understanding the data needsto support risk and opportunity management associated with theenvironmental, social and governance impacts of Tosca products andservices. The role will require a close working relationship with theGlobal Regulatory, Sustainability Data and LCA Manager and theSustainability Analyst as well as the senior leadership across bothRegions.
The ideal candidate must be comfortable ina fast-paced business setting focused on innovation, sustainabilityand change, and be willing to learn, grow, and maintain theirexpertise as the industry progresses.
This is afull-time role based in Dudley, UK, with travel up to 50% of the time.
Responsibilities
* Provide practical advice, guidance and direct technicalsupport to operations, supply chain, procurement, HR, HSE,manufacturing and any other Tosca department across EMEA to reducesustainability related impacts and achieve global targets.
* Develop costed budgetary requirements with appropriate ROIwith the relevant departments to facilitate improvements and reducerisks.
* Fulfil all necessary reporting disclosures forEcovadis and the UN Global Compact.
* Provide support forreporting to regulations such as the EU Corporate SustainabilityReporting Directive, California Bill SB 261 and Tosca’s annualsustainability report.
* Continually educate self on trends andchanges related to ESG improvements and best practices and transferthat knowledge to the relevant departments.
* Interact withindustry organizations to understand the latest sustainabilitypractices, certifications, and studies.
* Work closely withother sustainability team members to share best practices and thusensure a uniform improvement in reducing ESG impacts to achieve ToscaESG goals across the organization.
LCASupport
* Create and provide LCAs to the sales team asrequired through use of the Tosca approved LCA process and under theguidance of the Global Sustainability Data, LCA and Innovationmanager.
Other Areas
* Support theGlobal Head of Sustainability in the development and implementation ofthe Global Sustainability Strategy.
* Conduct research andbenchmarking analysis on sustainability best practices.
* Assist in preparing reports detailing progress towardsproduct stewardship and sustainability goals.
* Completeadministrative tasks to maintain accurate sustainability records anddata.
* Complete ad-hoc analysis as required.
* Complywith any other requirements as determined by the Global Head ofSustainability.
Your Profile
* Bachelor’s degree inSustainability or Environmental Science or a related field with aminimum of 5 years’ experience.
* Strong understanding of ESGrelated regulations (i.e. EU CSRD, EU and US EPR’s, PPWR, UK PPT,etc.)
* Technical experience in implementing sustainabilityimprovements in a matrix organization.
* Interest and passionfor sustainability.
* Experience with data analysis andvisualization software/tools.
Additionalexpertise appreciated
* Knowledge of sustainabilityreporting frameworks.
* Experience in LCA, knowledge of climatestandards (SBTi, CDP).
* Experience and/ or knowledge of ESGregulations.
* Experience with LCAs and/ or LCA software.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint anddatabase management.
* A self-starter with solid planning andanalytical skills, requiring minimal supervision. This includes ademonstrated ability to identify and advocate for newly identifiedopportunities.
* Strong analytical, critical thinking andproblem-solving skills.
* Excellent written and verbalcommunication abilities.
* High attention to detail andaccuracy.
* Ability to meet deadlines effectively, stronginitiative and sense of urgency.
* Ability to build andmaintain relationships with peers, consultants, and business partners.
* Effective teamwork skills with demonstrated ability forleading teams to meet business and technical objectives
