Overview
Field Service Engineer – Scotland at Crown Lift Trucks UK. The role involves on-site service and repairs of customer equipment, with a focus on safety, professionalism and cost efficiency.
Responsibilities
* Carry out inspections, service and repairs to equipment on customer sites in a safe, professional and cost-effective manner.
* Maintain documentation of all works in line with Health and Safety and Quality procedures.
* Follow a planned schedule of service and maintenance jobs at client premises.
* Monitor van stock and ensure sufficient parts for day-to-day fleet maintenance.
* Accurately complete job sheets, timesheets and purchase requisition/parts paperwork within required timescales.
* Be responsible for all equipment and tooling (van, laptop/tablet, etc.) and ensure they are safe for the work undertaken.
* Work to strict planned schedules and deadlines.
Qualifications
* Knowledge of at least one of the following areas, with willingness to undertake additional training: mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, hydraulics.
* Ability to work independently and in a team; good communication skills; ability to work to timescales.
Essential Skills
* Must hold a full UK Driving Licence.
* Proficient in fault finding and repair.
* Educated to GCSE grade C in English and maths.
* Experience with Health & Safety requirements in workshop practice.
* Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
* Excellent organisational skills; resourceful and solution-driven.
* High standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Ability to multi-task and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
* Ability to work independently or in a team; clear oral and written communication; negotiation skills.
* Flexibility to meet the diverse needs of the role; motivated with resilience under pressure.
* Positive, personable, and proactive attitude.
Desirable Skills
* Recent experience in forklift truck service environment (not essential).
* Engineering qualification.
Vacancy Details
* Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:30 (30 minutes lunch).
* Company Vehicle: Company van and fuel card provided with option for private use (subject to tax regulations).
