Senior Mechanical HVAC Design Engineer – Birmingham
Salary: £55,000–£70,000 + per annum DOE

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a dynamic team in Birmingham. You will be working for a well-established mechanical building services consultancy and contractor, delivering high-quality design solutions across commercial, fit-out, and building services projects.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from office and retail fit-outs to larger commercial developments, in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage mechanical design projects from concept to detailed working drawings.
* Produce accurate calculations for LTHW, CHW, ventilation, air conditioning, ductwork, and pipework.
* Use Autodesk Revit (essential) to create design models and coordinate with other disciplines.
* Utilise design software such as Hevacomp and TAS.
* Ensure designs comply with all relevant codes, standards, and project requirements.
* Collaborate with project teams to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality outcomes.
* Mentor junior engineers and contribute to overall team development.
Essential Requirements
* Proven experience in mechanical building services design, ideally in commercial or fit-out projects.
* Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects under deadlines.
* Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
* Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
* Experience producing calculations across LTHW, CHW, ventilation, AC, ductwork, and pipework.
Desirable Skills
* Familiarity with AutoCAD alongside Revit.
* Experience in commercial fit-out or building services projects.
* Knowledge of Hevacomp and TAS software.
