St Joseph’s Services provides Housing Support / Care at Home services to adults with a Learning Disability living in their own homes.
The Practice Development Leaders, as the registered managers of our circles of best practice are responsible for leading our services to ensure the people we support lead full and independent lives as active citizens within the community and provide a safe, welcoming and sustainable working
Practice Development Leaders are members of the Senior Leadership Team and contribute to the overall strategy and operations of St Joseph’s Services. The Practice Development Leader will uphold St Joseph’s Services Vincentian Philosophy and Values.
Key Duties:
•Work at all times within the values of St Joseph’s Services and act in ways that create an inspirational, healthy and respectful environment for all.
•To oversee and ensure the development and implementation of best practice within a circle
•To keep up to date with research, best practice, local strategies and initiatives in your field
•To contribute to the strategic plan of St Joseph’s Services and develop and implement an operational plan for the Circle
•To support, mentor and inspire the Team Leaders
•To work in partnership with the Training Coordinator to ensure that each individual in the circle, both people who use the service and staff, can develop to their full potential
•To work in partnership with the Quality Assurance Leader to maintain the quality assurance system
•To be responsible for the recruitment, development, growth, learning and succession planning of the members of staff directly managed by the post holder and all others in the circle
•To liaise and actively engage with colleagues in other parts of St Joseph’s Services to ensure a comprehensive service is achieved for the people who use the services
•To liaise and actively engage with colleagues in other organisations, developing partnerships and networks that support the circle
•To be responsible and accountable for the resource management for the Circle
•To contribute and participate in the out-of hours, on call service operated by “St Joseph’s Services”
•To lead on the health, safety and wellbeing of everyone associated with the Circle of Best Practice working in partnership with the Health and Safety Coordinator.
•Manage systems to record and report on service delivery and outcomes
•Support the Team Leaders to ensure effective use of staffing and the cohorting of services
•Oversight of staffing within teams using rota management tool
•Support, facilitate and participate in organisational forums
•Contribute/ take responsibility for completing reports in timely manner
•HR responsibility and oversight within the Circle of Best Practice
•Oversight and support of the management of people we supports finances including benefits
•To carry out any other duties deemed necessary to ensure the wellbeing of staff and people who use the services
Person Specification:
Essential:
–An ability to demonstrate the core values of St Joseph’s Service
–SVQ Level 4 or equivalent in Social Care or the ability to achieve this within agreed timescales
–Management qualification or the ability to achieve this within agreed timescales
–A passion for and knowledge of person centred support particularly as it applies to working with people with a learning disability
–Excellent working knowledge of national Care Standards /Supporting
–Knowledge of regulatory systems affecting the care sector
–Evidence of and on-going commitment to continuous professional development
–Proven leadership experience in a similar environment
–Finance/budgeting skills
–Experience of developing teams and ability to manage with confidence and sensitivity and support
–Ability to cope with challenge
–Excellent interpersonal skills
–Good presentation skills
–Ability to influence and persuade
–Ability to work flexibly by undertaking on-call and extra curricular activities
–Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
–Good working knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation
–Full valid driving licence
