We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic individual to join our Community Safety Team as a Community Protection Officer.
Responsibilities
* Investigate cases of anti-social behaviour, noise and statutory nuisance.
* Take appropriate and proportionate enforcement action in accordance with relevant legislative provisions.
* Contribute towards the Council’s objective for a safer Ashfield.
* Work closely with other departments and agencies such as the Police to resolve issues ranging from neighbour disputes to fly tipping.
* Work a shift pattern that includes evenings and weekends, carrying out both reactive and proactive visits.
* Represent the Council as a front-line uniformed officer.
Skills & Approach
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Customer-centred, methodical approach to investigation procedures and problem solving. Ability to conduct high visibility foot patrols and awareness of personal safety precautions.
Qualifications
* Minimum Level 2 qualification or substantial experience in a relevant field.
* Full driving licence.
Other Requirements
* Successful post holder will be required to undertake and pass Police Vetting Level 2.
