About the Role
We are a leading international law firm seeking a Director of Business Development to drive the growth of our cross-border legal services, with a focus on UK–Asia markets. This is a senior, strategic role reporting directly to the Managing Partner, responsible for developing and executing initiatives that expand the firm's client portfolio and strengthen long-term international relationships.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and implement the firm's international business development strategy, targeting high-value sectors and strategic clients
· Lead client acquisition and relationship management efforts to increase fee-generating opportunities
· Leverage established professional networks and industry contacts to create structured business pipelines
· Represent the firm at international conferences, industry events, and networking forums
· Collaborate with partners and practice group leaders to identify market opportunities and align business development initiatives with firm objectives
· Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and client needs to inform strategic decision-making
· Prepare and present commercial performance reports to the senior management team
What We're Looking For
· Proven experience in senior business development or commercial leadership roles, preferably within professional services
· Demonstrable track record of generating revenue through client acquisition and relationship management
· Strong international perspective, ideally with experience in UK–Asia commercial markets
· Excellent strategic thinking, commercial awareness, and problem-solving skills
· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage with senior-level clients and partners
