Job Overview

The Hazardous Area Response Teams (HART) are comprised of specially recruited personnel who are trained and equipped to provide ambulance response to high-risk and complex emergency situations.

Applications are invited from individuals with experience in the design and delivery of education and training programmes. Previous HART / Ambulance Service experience is not mandatory, as training can be provided where necessary.

The post holder will be responsible for delivering all HART training and education for HART staff within SECAmb, in line with the standards set out by the National Ambulance Resilience Unit (NARU). They will also develop, prepare, and manage high-quality education & training programmes related to all HART capabilities, aligned with contracted National Standards.

Main duties of the job
The HART Training and Development Manager will plan, develop, deliver, and monitor training and educational programmes for both new and existing HART personnel.

They will deliver relevant training related to all HART capabilities, adhering to requirements set by NARU and our commissioners.

The post holder will collaborate with the trusts' SORT/EPRR and Clinical Education teams to integrate learning across the organisation.

They will be required to attain enhanced security clearance and participate in an on-call rota (remunerated as per A4C), act as a Tactical Advisor, and serve as a National Interagency Liaison Officer (NILO). Full training will be provided, including courses such as Tactical Commander and Radiation Protection Supervisor.

Please note that the starting salary for new NHS staff will typically be at the bottom of the pay band unless relevant experience is demonstrated.
