Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Mentor to provide guidance and support to children in various educational settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs. As a Mentor, you will play a crucial role in fostering a positive learning environment, promoting personal growth, and enhancing academic skills.
Duties
* Provide one-on-one mentoring to children, focusing on their individual needs and learning styles.
* Assist with academic subjects such as maths and literacy through tutoring sessions.
* Implement behaviour management strategies to support positive interactions and learning outcomes.
* Utilise speech therapy techniques as needed to aid communication skills development.
* Develop and deliver engaging activities that promote physical education and overall well-being.
* Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to create tailored educational plans.
* Maintain accurate records of progress and provide constructive feedback to students and their families.
* Foster an inclusive environment that encourages participation from all children, including those with special educational needs.
Qualifications
* Proven experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
* Background in early childhood education or special education is highly desirable.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to connect with children effectively.
* Knowledge of applied behaviour analysis principles is advantageous.
* Experience in teaching physical education or related activities is beneficial.
* Proficiency in proofreading educational materials for clarity and accuracy.
* Ability to mentor peers or junior staff members effectively.
