Housing Officer
Are you a passionate Housing Officer looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are currently recruiting for a Housing Officer to work within the young people service based in Dartford.
Pay Rates: £13.21 -£16.50 Umbrella Rate
Information the Role: Successful candidates will be offered 6 months initially working 37.5hrs per week. One weekend and bank holidays per month are required to work.
What you will be doing:
Carry out an assessment of the needs, abilities and preferences of referrals
Carry out risk assessments to minimise risk for the resident, other residents and staff
Be responsible for residents incoming sign-up experience and induction to the site
Agree and implement with each resident, an individual sustainment plan and deliver the service in accordance with this
Ensure that residents understand their occupancy agreements
Monitor and respond to any breaches of occupancy agreements
Manage complaints and occupancy disputes
Manage and maintain rent accounts in line with internal rent and arrears management processes.
Where appropriate, work with/refer to other agencies providing support
To support the Housing team to drive the engagement program with residents
To encourage residents to take part in making decisions about service delivery
Provide information on and promote the organisation's involvement activities
Work with colleagues to collect feedback about the service
Ensure that you work in ways that meet the requirements of Ofsted regulation
Skills & Professional Characteristics needed:
A good basic level of numeracy and literacy skills.
A qualification in youth work, housing or similar area
Understanding of the challenges faced by young people
Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding
Ability to carry out effective needs and risk assessments and develop relevant sustainment plans from these
Understanding of Ofsted regulatory framework
Able to use IT systems to enter accurate data and keep UpToDate records
Able to work unsocial hours including evening and weekend duties. Where necessary to work bank holidays (including Easter and Christmas), these requirements will be agreed, wherever possible in advance. Time off in lieu of additional time may be taken.
