Are you confident leading a group of young people and experienced in working with children? Have you previously taken sole control of a class, team, or activity — such as a dance group, sports session, or youth programme? If so, we’d love to hear from you. We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools in Coventry. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with coaching, dance instruction, youth work, or similar leadership experience who are looking to transition into education or expand their school-based experience. The Role As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, deliver pre-set lesson plans and ensure students remain on task, manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies, provide a calm, professional and engaging presence in the classroom, and report back to teaching staff on lesson outcomes and student behaviour. This is not a teaching role — planning and marking are not required. Ideal Candidate We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience working with children or young people (e.g. sports coach, dance teacher, youth leader, instructor), have experience being in sole charge of a group, are confident and resilient with the ability to manage behaviour effectively, have strong communication and organisational skills, and are adaptable and able to work across different subjects and schools. Previous school experience is desirable but not essential. What We Offer: Flexible, adhoc work to suit your schedule Competitive daily pay School hours (8:30am–3:30pm) – no evenings or weekends Opportunity to gain further experience in secondary education This role is ideal for aspiring teachers, sports coaches, youth workers, teaching assistants, or anyone with relevant experience looking for flexible work in education. If you are passionate about supporting young people and want a role that works around your availability, we would love to hear from you.
