Due to continued growth and increasing customer demand, we are expanding our team and are looking for a driven and capable Shift Manager to join our fast-paced manufacturing operation.
On Site Shift Timings – Monday to Friday 5.30am to 2pm.
Purpose of the Role:
As Shift Manager, you will lead and motivate a production team ensuring the safe, high-quality, and timely manufacture of Stoats products. You will be responsible for driving operational performance across Safety, Quality, Service, and Cost, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards such as BRC and HACCP. A champion of continuous improvement, you will use lean manufacturing techniques to deliver a high-performance culture and operational excellence.
Main Accountabilities:
· Deliver shift targets aligned with KPI's for Safety, Quality, Service, and Cost
· Build, develop, and lead a high-performing team across multiple functions
· Apply lean tools to implement and sustain continuous improvement initiatives
· Support asset care by resolving real-time operational issues and ensuring machine reliability
· Drive a training and development plan to enable a multi-skilled team
· Recruit, appraise, coach, and manage performance of all team members
· Support production scheduling as needed
· Provide hands-on leadership during production peaks or challenges
· Communicate clearly using visual management tools, daily briefs, and shift handovers
· Manage staffing levels, shift planning, holiday, and absence scheduling
· Support investigations into accidents, near misses, non-conformities, and corrective actions
Preferred Skills & Knowledge:
· Proven experience as a team leader or shift manager in an FMCG manufacturing environment
· Strong, hands-on leadership with a people-first mindset
· Passionate about delivering excellent product quality and customer service
· Dynamic and results-driven with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
· Skilled in structured problem solving and lean methodologies
· Knowledge of BRC, HACCP, and food safety standards
· IOSH certification desirable
