Overview:
We are seeking an experienced IT Software Category Manager to join our global manufacturing team. The successful candidate will manage the procurement and strategic sourcing of software and IT services, ensuring alignment with company objectives and optimizing cost-efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement category management strategies for IT software procurement.
- Lead negotiations with vendors to secure competitive pricing and favourable contract terms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand software requirements and ensure alignment with business needs.
- Conduct market analysis to stay informed of industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Manage supplier relationships, performance, and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements in software procurement.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements in all purchasing activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Category Manager in IT software within a global manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of software procurement, licensing, and contract management.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyse data and market trends to make informed decisions.
- Strong project management skills and ability to work collaboratively across global teams.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software tools.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with cloud-based software and SaaS models.
- Certification in supply chain management or procurement (e.g., CIPS, CPSM).
