Permanent | Engineering / Manufacturing Environment
We are recruiting a Project Technician to provide hands‑on engineering and project support within a regulated manufacturing and packaging environment.
The Role
This position supports engineering projects and day‑to‑day operational activities to ensure safe, compliant and efficient facilities and equipment. You will contribute to small capital projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and compliance activities, working closely with cross‑functional stakeholders and external contractors.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical engineering support across projects and operations in line with GMP and engineering best practice
* Lead or support small engineering and continuous improvement projects (typically up to £100k)
* Coordinate internal teams and external contractors to deliver project activities safely and efficiently
* Support commissioning, qualification and validation (CQV) activities
* Conduct engineering surveys and contribute to feasibility studies and documentation
* Manage shutdowns, permits, risk assessments, and method statements for project works
* Ensure all work is carried out in line with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements
* Contribute to equipment reliability, availability and cost‑reduction initiatives
Skills & Experience
* Time‑served apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3–4, City & Guilds, or equivalent in an engineering or building services discipline
* Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment (pharmaceutical experience desirable but not essential)
* Knowledge of health & safety legislation and contractor management
* Exposure to project delivery or formal project management training advantageous
