I am looking for a female personal care assistant. I am a spinally injured wheelchair user based in Glasgow, Scotland. I require a person that can work 10am-6pm for the day shift and 11pm-9am for the sleepover, but this can vary slightly. Various shifts available. The hourly rate is £13.50 per hour day rate, and £122.20 for the sleepover shift. Pension scheme available. The ability to cover holiday and sick days of colleagues is essential as you will be part of a small team. The successful Personal Assistant will be conscientious and reliable with a good work ethic, presentable have good communication and interpersonal skills. Should be caring and compassionate. I need you to be genuinely invested in supporting me in all my daily living activities and duties around the house. Must like cats and be able and willing to interact with them as I have 3 lovely boys who are very important to me. There is no tight structure to how a day may be. Everything depends on how I may feel on the day. I can have days where I am unwell and in a lot of pain, and I can have days where I'm full of energy and want to get everything done. I am currently recovering from a long period of bed rest, so need sport with my rehab. Housework is important to me as I like my house to be tidy and organised. Assisting with my 3 cats helping with cat litter and playing with them is also important. I like to have a laugh and don't get bored easily. You must be able to work more than 20 hours a week. Include assistance with some or all of the following: Getting in and/or out of bed
Washing and bathing
Dressing/undressing
Assistance with shopping/ cooking
Cleaning home / laundry/ironing
Any other tasks appropriate to the job, as directed
Personal Assistant Qualities:
Ability to carry out tasks to a high level.
Willingness to learn the job and undergo relevant training
Ability to multi task
To be able to follow instruction and use own initiative when required.
Ability to cook vegetarian meals.
Discretion and integrity are paramount as is the ability to work on your own initiative or under guidance. Must be open minded and comfortable as will be assisting with personal care e.g. showering, bathing, dressing etc, as well as domestic tasks and cooking.
