The Vacancy
Based either at our Dundee or Aberdeen site and reporting to the Senior Infrastructure Engineer you will work with other talented team members to provide an efficiently run and highly available infrastructure to support business processes and research activities.
With many interesting projects taking place from our open science initiative to tackling global challenges such as the climate emergency and food security, it’s an exciting time to join our organisation.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a multi-disciplinary infrastructure team and have the drive and enthusiasm to continually progress and see tasks through to completion.
You will have a broad working knowledge and experience in the following areas.
* Virtualisation & Cloud Computing
* Microsoft Infrastructure technologies
* Storage Infrastructure
* Network Infrastructure
You will be involved in supporting all the above areas both in a business as usual capacity and project driven. You will be expected to develop and maintain a solid understanding of all relevant platforms and services in order to provide end-to-end support effectively.
Proven experience supporting a large virtual estate, enterprise storage solutions and Microsoft Server technologies are essential.
Any experience with Linux and networking technologies would be advantageous but not necessary.
Although based at the either the Dundee or Aberdeen sites there will be a need for occasional travel to other sites.
