Environmental Health & Safety Officer
Location: Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire (Commutable from Bicester, Thame, High Wycombe, Leighton Buzzard, Tring, Milton Keynes and surrounding areas)
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 per annum (DOE)
Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday (2pm Friday finish)

Syntech Recruitment are currently partnering with a fast-growing engineering manufacturer in Aylesbury to recruit an Environmental Health & Safety Officer to join their Production Engineering & Facilities team.
This is a key position within the business — you won’t just maintain systems, you’ll help shape and improve them.

The Role
As Environmental Health & Safety Officer, you will:
*
Develop, implement and maintain EH&S policies and procedures
*
Maintain ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards
*
Conduct site audits, inspections and risk assessments
*
Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis
*
Monitor EH&S KPIs and provide management reporting
*
Deliver safety training, inductions and refresher sessions
*
Liaise with external bodies including HSE and environmental agencies
*
Support sustainability initiatives including waste and energy management
*
Work cross-functionally with production, engineering and facilities teams
This is a hands-on, site-based role within a manufacturing environment.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for:
*
NEBOSH General Certificate (essential)
*
Proven EH&S experience within manufacturing or engineering
*
Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation
*
Experience maintaining ISO 45001 / ISO 14001
*
Confident communicator with the ability to influence across departments
*
Organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities
*
Comfortable working independently
Experience with ERP systems (e.g. Epicor) would be advantageous.
