Domiciliary Care Worker Purpose of the Role Provide compassionate, person‑centred care and support to individuals in their own homes, helping them maintain independence, dignity, and quality of life. This includes personal care, practical assistance, and emotional support tailored to each person’s needs. Key Responsibilities Personal Care — Support with washing, dressing, toileting, grooming, continence care, and mobility. Medication Support — Assist with prompting, administering (where appropriate), and recording medication in line with care plans. Meal Preparation — Prepare nutritious meals and drinks, support with eating and drinking, and monitor dietary needs. Household Tasks — Carry out light domestic duties such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping to maintain a safe home environment. Companionship — Provide social interaction, conversation, and emotional reassurance to reduce loneliness and promote wellbeing. Community Support — Assist with attending appointments, social activities, or accessing the community when required.
