Background We are currently looking for a Paralegal to work within our award winning Nursing Care Department. Our Nursing Care department is one of the leading national experts in the recovery of wrongly paid care home fees; our specialist nursing care team have successfully recovered over £170 million for our clients since the department was set up in 2006.
The role involves challenging decisions on NHS continuing health care cases. The successful candidates will be responsible for their own file load, with supervision. This will involve taking clients instructions and preparing cases for review panels; including drafting witness statements and letters as well as reviewing medical records. In addition to case preparation, the role will involve advocacy in presenting cases to internal review panels. The role will involve communication with clients via the telephone and correspondence and so strong written skills and an empathetic telephone manner are pre-requisites for these positions.

Skills & Qualifications
* Law degree or similar academic qualification/ relevant experience
* Sound interpersonal and negotiation skills
* Good team player
* Well-organised
* LPC advantageous but not essential
* Strong IT skills
