A vacancy has arisen for a self‑motivated and enthusiastic individual to join this dynamic and internationally respected EQA programme based within the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust.
The individual will be required to work with other healthcare scientists and administrative staff in the area of Immunology, Immunochemistry & Allergy by delivering an efficient and responsive EQA service to UK and international clinical laboratories.
This is a non‑patient facing role within UK NEQAS and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust that will ideally suit an individual looking to join an internationally respected team and be exposed to new and exciting developments.

Main duties of the job
Pre‑analytical processing of samples to include the preparation, manufacture, suitability and distribution of EQA material.
* To assist in data entry into the UK NEQAS IIA IT systems
* Adhere to all Trust, Directorate and Service Policies
* Store, retrieve and dispose of biological material according to the relevant procedures
* Deal with direct queries from Medical and Scientific Staff and other Service Users including telephone enquiries and taking appropriate action as necessary
* Assist scientific staff in laboratory activities, including the correlation, analysis and scientific report of EQA data

Qualifications
* GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English at level C/4 or above (or equivalent experience/quals)
* Other I.T. literacy including Microsoft Office at intermediate or advanced level.
Experience
* Previous experience of working as part of a team
* Good working knowledge of MS Word and Excel spreadsheets.
* Previous experience of working within a laboratory environment
* Understanding of quality management systems
Skills and Knowledge
* Keyboard and basic IT skills
* Have an awareness of Health & Safety issues
* Effective Communication skills, written and oral
* Evidence of effective time management skills and with a methodical approach
* Evidence of good manual dexterity
