Job Advert. Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Support Worker to join our incredible team in Belper, Derbyshire. As a Support Worker, youll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals we support with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs. From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life. Working within our community support service across four locations all within a mile of each other. Belper Community support is a service where we support nine individuals to live as independently as possible within their own home. You will be supporting to maintain their homes from basic domestic tasks, supporting with household bills and finances, medication, supporting to access the local community, to making and attending appointments and teaching life skills such as cooking and budgeting.
Responsibilities
* Assist with daily activities and provide emotional support to individuals we support.
* Support nine individuals to live as independently as possible within their own home, including maintaining their homes and basic domestic tasks.
* Support with household bills and finances, medication, access to the local community, appointments, and teaching life skills such as cooking and budgeting.
Qualifications
* A genuine passion for supporting others.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
* A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
